Time for a water break
If this was a marathon, I would be at mile 13.1.
In other words, over 200 characters, 64 hours of class, and 15 chapters later, I have reached the halfway mark.
And man, is it time for a water break.
I'm tired, but yet so encouraged.
As I sat down last night to review characters and grammar points from the last four weeks, I could already see how far I had come. My Chinese, whether it feels like it or not sometimes, has come a long way.
I know that reaching the finish line is possible.
But not without the encouragement of others.
I'd say the highlight of this week was when one of my teachers said,"杨雨,你的中文真的不错”。(Yang Yu, Your Chinese is really not bad.)
It was like seeing a spectator's sign during a race.
A little boost. I can do this.
So, I'm halfway and beginning to look ahead at things to come: a big presentation, a talent show, and a few hundred more characters.
I'd say it is time to shoot some Gu Energy Gel (Just for you, Aunt Margo :))
As we would say in Chinese, “加油!”
(Good Luck, or literally, refuel!)
